Security & compliance

Four controls verifiable in due diligence

Segregated client funds

Client funds recorded separately from the company's own funds and verifiable at account level; assets transferred to the company's accounts to settle a trade are used for transaction purposes only.

Fireblocks MPC wallet technology

Private keys are held as multi-party computation shares, with no single point of control.

Elliptic on-chain screening

All on-chain receipts are screened for address and source-of-funds risk before being credited; funds that fail screening are dealt with in accordance with applicable law, the review outcome and the service agreement.

Sumsub customer due diligence

Corporate KYB and individual KYC are fully documented; admission decisions are made by the Sydney compliance team.

Operational controls

Transaction-level controls

  • Travel Rule: originator and beneficiary information transmitted with virtual asset transfers as required
  • On-chain screening: all receipts screened by Elliptic before being credited
  • Customer due diligence: corporate KYB and individual KYC through Sumsub, with admission decided in Sydney
  • Segregation: client funds recorded separately from the company's own funds; transaction funds used for transaction purposes only
  • Wallets: Fireblocks MPC wallet technology with key shares and no single point of control; Fireblocks holds SOC 2 Type II certification (certified party: Fireblocks)
  • Withdrawals: executed only to pre-approved whitelisted addresses
Platform security

  • HTTPS on all endpoints; sensitive data encrypted at rest
  • Granular permission controls; sensitive actions fully logged and auditable

Frequently asked

Questions from compliance and audit functions

Is Digital Reserve licensed in Hong Kong?
No. Our registered entity is in Australia: an AUSTRAC-registered Remittance Service Provider and Virtual Asset Service Provider. Hong Kong is where we have an office and a market. We do not carry on any activity in Hong Kong that requires a Hong Kong licence. Hong Kong clients may use the company's services; the Hong Kong team manages the relationship, with execution and compliance determinations in Sydney.
Can settlement be guaranteed?
No, and no institution can. Digital Reserve offers four controls that can be verified individually in due diligence: segregated client funds, Fireblocks MPC wallet technology, Elliptic on-chain screening and Sumsub customer due diligence.
Why are compliance and execution located in Sydney?
Compliance determinations, financial control and KYC decisions are made in Sydney, the jurisdiction of registration; Hong Kong is responsible for client relationships only. This is the substance behind 'the registered entity is domiciled in Australia' and the governance structure that regulators and banks expect.
How is transaction information kept confidential?
Strictly. Transactions do not appear on a public order book; data is encrypted at rest; disclosure is made only where required by law.
Which banks does Digital Reserve work with?
Fiat settlement is conducted through the company's own banking channels; specific channels are disclosed as required during due diligence.
